Cleveland Cavaliers
The Leader: LeBron James: 33.5ppg, 8.1rpg, 6.0apg, 2.2spg, 3.3tpg
Not only are Cleveland the hottest team in the league at the moment (9-1 in their last 10), however they also hold the leagues best record, the leagues MVP front runner, a top 5 center and one of the leagues most efficient point guards. Cleveland are 2.5 games in front of second place Washington and a whopping 7.5 games ahead of Toronto. For the moment, Cleveland are the best team in the league by far, lets hope they can transform there regular season success into post season success.
Houston Rockets
The Leader: Dwyane Wade: 29.2ppg, 5.4rpg, 5.5apg, 2.2spg, 4.1tpg
Although they sit third in the West (with the second best record), Houston are currently, the second best team in the league. They recently came off a 13 game winning streak and have been drawing closer to conference leaders Utah ever since the Jazz cooled down from their blistering hot run. Fueled by the ever prominent Yao Ming, Dwyane Wade and recently acquired power forward, Antoine Walker, the Rockets look very dangerous and will be looking to take charge of the West in the coming sims.
Washington Wizards
The Leader: Dirk Nowitzki: 31.9ppg, 9.1rpg, 3.5apg, 1.2spg, 2.9tpg
After trading away the organisations "franchise player" before day 1 of the 07 season had even commenced, the Washington Wizards are now considered one of the leagues most potent and dangerous teams. Lead by Dirk Nowitzki (who was traded for Arenas), Antawn Jamison and former Pacer, Jamaal Tinsley, the team from the nations capital are currently 39-17 and only 2 and a half games behind Cleveland who currently sit atop of the Eastern Conference.
Utah Jazz
The Leader: Ron Artest: 23.1ppg, 6.9rpg, 4.3apg, 1.1spg, 2.1tpg
Although the Jazz hold the best record in the Western Conference, they are not the best team at the moment. After starting the season at an absolutely blistering pace, the new-look Jazz have cooled down going 4-6 in their last 10 games and 9-9 since the all-star break. In saying that, don't expect Utah to lie down just yet. With even production from all five starters, Utah may just be warming up.
San Antonio Spurs
The Leader: Tim Duncan: 27.1ppg, 12.9rpg, 3.3apg, 1.6spg, 2.2bpg, 2.9tpg
The Spurs are 7-3 in their last 10 games and currently have 4 of their 5 starters averaging over 18 points per game. After just recently acquiring both Shaquille O'Neal and Allen Iverson from Miami and Denver respectivley, the San Antonio Spurs are easily the best team in the league on paper. The spurs posses the by far the leagues best front court, an agile and determined small forward and one of the UOSL's top guards. With depth to boot (think Stoudemire, James, Araujo), San Antonio look to be the most deadly team in the league right now. Weather they can turn their salaries into W's is not yet known.
