It is known that not every player drafted will develop and become a starter, let alone a star. The Kings know this very well. Most teams know where the top tier guys are, but what about the second rounders or even the first rounders who didn't develop. Where are they know?

Julian Wright SF 30 6'8'' 232 B- C- C B- B C
JR Reynolds- No Info Available
2007 seems so long ago. Wright is now a 30 year old backup for the Washington Wizards. 2007 is considered one of the top drafts ever and rightfully so. Whenever you have Durant, Brandan Wright, and Oden, you will be considered a top draft class. Wright has been a starter, a 6th man, and lately a lower bench guy. Wright played for the Kings for 7 years before signing with the Timberwolves, then going to the Heat, Sonics, and finally the Wizards. Currently, Wright has kept the same inside game he had coming out of college, decreased by 1 in defense and actually gone up by 2 in rebounding. However his ratings seem to be going down each year as he is on the wrong side of his career. Wright has never been much of a scorer. His highest scoring year was only 13.6. His career averages are 9.2, 7.6 rpg in 30 mpg. His main strength has been his rebounding, which I always thought was great for a SF. If only he could have used that rebounding skill at the 4 spot.
JR Reynolds, the former 2nd round pick for the Kings has seemed to disappear. Last reports say that he was on the Blazers from 2013 to 2015, then was sent into free agency. What he is doing now is not available.
A former 6th Man of the Year, Wright is now a backup for the Wizards, his 5th team

Then
8 - Spencer Hawes C 7'0'' 250 20 B C- D+ C+ C A (Sacramento Kings)
Strengths:
Hawes is very long and has very good hands. He runs the floor very well for his size. His ball-handling, is fantastic, especially in the open court, as he played a lot of guard before his reaching his full height. Hawes is very smooth on the court, and has a great, soft touch around the basket. He possesses good shooting form, and has range out to three point distance, but is only consistent to about 18 feet.
Weaknesses:
Definitely needs to bulk up more for life in the paint in college. He needs to develop alternate post moves. He lacks great quickness. He will occasionally settle for taking outside shots instead of attacking from the post. His rebounding skills could be improved. Spencer is not an amazing athlete and has trouble with smaller quicker opponents. He could improve his overall defense.
8 - James Gist PF 6'8'' 228 23 C+ C D+ B- C B (Sacramento Kings)
Now
Spencer Hawes C 29 7'0'' 250 B- C C- B- B- C
James Gist- No reports available
From reading about Hawes coming into the draft, one would think he was better suited as a SF, not a C. Needs to improve defense, rebounding, and needs to pound the ball inside is never great things to hear about a C. Hawes was drafted to possibly be the big man of this team, to team with Wright and Deron Williams. Well it never seemed Hawes really panned out. His current ratings show he doesn’t suck, but isn’t a beast either. He has increased his handles, defense, and rebounding (by 1, 1, and 2 respectively). He did take a hit on the scoring side of the ball. However these ratings do not tell the whole story since Hawes is 29 and not getting any younger. Hawes played for the Kings for 4 years, then has played for 5 different teams in 6 years. Breaking down his stats it doesn’t seem well for Hawes to be considered a top player. He never averaged more than 30 mpg, never more than 9 rpg, never more than 1.3 bpg, and only had double-digit scoring 2 season. His career averages are 24 mpg, 8.6 ppg, 7.1 rpg, and 0.8 bpg. His mpg took a big hit after his 6th year. It is harsh to say he was a bust, so I won’t say it. He isn’t a true bust, but he didn’t develop into the type of player he could have done.
Gist is almost the same as Reynolds. Gist played for the Kings but then was either released or not resigned and is current not in the league. Some reports say he is now trying to play overseas.
Hawes didn't turn out quite how the Kings had hoped

Now
8 Kings- Donte Greene(Syracuse) PF 20 6-10 220lbs SO B- C+ C- C C+ A SO
Strengths:
He's very hard to defend. He can shoot anywhere from the court, and he is able to get himself open thanks to solid quickness, strength, and jumping. Solid rebounder and also a solid shot blocker.
Weaknesses:
Not a good defender at all, shows minimal signs of improvement. He's can be very lazy which is a huge turn off to some GMs. To be able to compete he needs to improve.
36 Kings- C+ Josh Carter(Texas A&M) SG 23 6-7 195lbs C B+ C C C- B

Donte Greene- No Reports Available
Josh Carter- No Reports Available
A guy who was picked #8, he didn’t develop. He was supposedly a good scorer, a good rebounder, a good shot blocker, and a good all around athlete. However his defense and attitude just wasn’t there. That is probably why he failed. Donte is a bit of a mystery of finding what has happened to him. He played on the Kings for 4 years, and then was resigned to a 2 year deal for the Kings. After that there is no reports of what he is doing now. Some people say he has given up trying to play in the league and some have said that he is playing overseas.
Carter makes it the third straight 2nd round pick that didn’t produce in the league. This time is was the high outside scorer Josh Carter. He played a little bit for the Kings, then left the league.
Greene played for the Kings for several years, he just never lived up to where he was picked

Another big that is now out of the league. Morgan played his 4 years for the Kings and left the league. He was considered a decent player, with solid potential. However not having an outside game or handles hurts a big in the league now. He had rebounding potential but couldn’t bring the rest of his game around. The second straight year that we can’t find any updates on a first round pick.
It is hard for second round picks to be successful in this league. Point Guards have to be able to pass and defend to be successful. Bouldin had potential, but wasn’t great at any one thing. He played some, then left the league. Nothing is none where he is now.
Morgan was a big BUST

Now
DeJuan Blair PF 29 6'7'' 246 B D+ C- B+ B+ C
Kyle Singler- No Reports Available
Blair is the first guy on this list who is still on the Kings. Blair is the “old guy” on the team, and he is only 29. Blair was taken later in the first, so many probably didn’t expect him to develop into a very good player. So far Blair has increased his inside by 1, defense by 3, and rebounding by 3. He has actually been a solid base for the Kings. He came in and immediately provide solid scoring and rebounding. His best scoring year was in 2016 when he averaged 18.4 ppg. In 2012 he had 17.8 ppg and a career high in rpg with 11.3. That year proved that he might develop into a solid player. He has had several guys at center alongside him, but he has been the constant big man. He has had 250 career double-doubles, and career averages of 15.1 ppg and 10.2 rpg. He has never been a true blocking threat, but averaging a career double-double is great.
The Kings had a good season in 2011, so there pick wasn’t good. Having to pick with the 19th pick in the second isn’t good for talent. Singler was a decent player, if he developed 2 or even 1 points in inside, outside, and defense he could have became a decent option. However he had C scouted potential, so it was a risk that he would develop. He didn’t and ended up out of the league. It is not known where he is now.
Blair became a great big man for the Kings after a long list of first round big man busts

18 Sacramento Kings - Tommy Mason-Griffin PG 5'10'' 190 21 C+ C B- C D A
Tommy Mason-Griffin is similar to Kendall Marshall. Hasn't proven himself at the college level. So GMs are still banking on his potential, which may be a problem. TMG Is a great passer and has good quickness. His defense is bad like a lot of the PGs in this class. I think he could be a good PG, but with him being 21 and his game still raw, it'd be quite a risk.
18 Sacramento Kings - Michael Harthun SG 6'3'' 185 23 C B C C D B
Tommy Mason-Griffin- No Reports Available
Michael Harthun- No Reports Available
Now
Another year of the playoffs means a lower pick. Mason-Griffin was picked for…well I’m not sure. The GM decided to trade away the team current PG for a SF, making Mason-Griffin the starter. This was not a great thing since he was still very raw and need time to develop. The good thing was that it meant having a worse player starting, thus a better pick. Luckily the Kings were able to get their PG of the future in the next draft, meaning that Mason-Griffin was not needed anymore. Mason Griffin played on the Kings for 2 years and a couple of months before he was bought out to save some cap room. Where he is now is a mystery.
Harthun didn’t develop. It really shouldn’t have been a big surprise due to where he was picked and his ratings coming in. It was a strictly potential pick. Harthun came in as a good outside scorer, however his defense was light years behind, and he never was able to develop defense or a inside came to compliment his outside shot. Where he is now is a mystery.
Mason-Griffin never developed like the Kings wanted
2013
[bThen[/b]
7 - Sacramento Kings - Matías Nocedal PG 6'4'' 195 21 B- B- B- C D+ A
Matias has a game that scouts are drooling over. He can score from anywhere on the court (his 3point shot is as good as it gets), he reminds scouts a lot of Ginobili, except Nocedal has much more upside and has more of a PG game. He has tremendous quickness. He needs to bulk up and work on his defense. Nocedal will be around uosl for quite a while.
6 - Sacramento Kings - Derrick Williams C 6'11'' 240 22 C+ C- C C+ C B
Now
Matías Nocedal PG 25 6'4'' 200 C+ A- A- B C- C
Derrick Williams C 26 6'11'' 249 B C- C B B- C
It seems like Nocedal has been on the Kings forever. While his inside game has gone down, he has increased in everything else. His main weakness is his defense, which eh has brought up to a B from a C, a difference of 3 points. He has also increased his outside shot and handles by 3 each. Nocedal has been one of the main scoring options for the Kings for his career. His main weakness has been his handles. Other than his first year in the league, his topg has been 2.8 or higher per game, with it being higher than 3 topg each of the past 3 season. He has reached his highest total this year, with 3.8 topg. His career averages are 14.4 ppg, 7.8 apg, and 3.0 topg in 33.8 mpg. He has also started almost every single game in his 5 years. Nocedal is also on a very friendly contract, which helps the team try and build up the rest of the roster. He needs to work on his defense and handles to become an elite point in this league.
Not much was said about Derrick Williams coming out of the draft. He was bunched with several other centers as a “2nd rounder”. However there was 1 wildcard. One of these centers was going to become a very good player. Williams might have been that player, but his ratings didn’t explode. Williams has become a very solid starter in the league. He has become a better inside player by 2, a better defender by 2, and a better rebounder by 2 as well. Williams came in for the Kings are started alongside Blair. Williams played for 2 years then became eligible for free agency. Williams was very loyal to the Kings, however he was also on the hunt for a big contract. A couple million separated the two contracts, however he decided to go to the Warriors. He was then traded a year later to the Magic, and is current in the last year of his contract…he is making 15 million this year. That is a ton for a former 2nd round pick. Williams hasn’t been an amazing player, but has become solid. His career averages are 31.6 mpg, 12.2 ppg and 9.0 rpg. He looks ot be a solid starter for years to come, but he probably won’t be making 15 million anytime soon.
Nocedal became the much needed PG for the Kings

10 - Sacramento Kings - Darrin Perdue PF 6'10'' 220 19 C C- D A- C A
You gotta love a rookie like Perdue. Btw I just noticed, Perdue goes to Purdue, AHAHAHAHA. Ok, sorry. Anyway, I love players like perdue who can come in block the hell out of opponents and play good hard-nosed defense. The rest of his game isn't very pretty, but he has a nice jump shot coming along, and he is only 19. Potentially, he is not maxed out, but he is still loaded. How his career ends up depends on a few TCs. A few friendly ones, and he could be one of the better PFs out there. But a couple of bad ones, and he may not see the court much. We will see...
10 – Kings- Jarvis Garrett PG 19 5-11 183lbs C C- B C C- A FR
We all know Garrett is probably loaded with potential, but is that still enough for him to become a good player in UOSL2. Garrett is very raw. His offense will probably never be a threat in UOSL2, and his defense is pretty bad as well. However Garrett is one of the quickest players we've ever seen. He can also see the court well and does a solid job at the point. He's no twig either, he'll go in and grab you some boards. I think Garrett will have a chance to get some good playing time, and if he has a few nice TCs, who knows what he could do.
Now
Darrin Perdue C 22 6'11'' 235 C+ C- D+ A C+ B
Jarvis Garrett PG 22 5'11'' 183 C C+ A- A- C B
Perdue’s career has been up and down. He has a solid TC his first year, then has regressed some. He is still a very young player, and is only 22. Perdue has improved his defense even further going up 1 there. His inside game went up 1 as well as did his rebounding. Perdue probably still has potential to improve on his current rating. Maybe some rebounding help to compliment his defensive game. Perdue played mostly as a backup his first year, but then has started. He is averaging around 30 mpg. He hasn’t had a solid offensive game, so his 7.8 ppg isn’t surprising. His 8.3 rpg also isn’t very surprising. He is averaging 2.4 bpg during his 4 years, and is at a career high average this year.
Garrett has to be one of the top second round steals in the history of UOSL2. Garrett has improved where it counts. He has increases his outside shot by 2, handles by 2, and defense by 5. Garrett didn’t get much playing time on the Kings, as he was the backup to Nocedal most of his time. Garrett played for 3 years on the Kings . He wanted to be resigned to a big contract, more than Nocedal was asking. The Kings decided to let him go into free agency and hope to resign him there for a 1 year deal, so many he would want less money come next season. However his backfired when the Suns offered him a 3 year, roughly 30.5 million dollar contract. Garret, who is now starting for the Suns is now averaging around 25 mpg, up a ton from his 13 he was on the Kings. His career averages are 4.6 ppg, 3 apg in 17.4 mpg, however those stats are very skewed since he is having a solid seasons so far and needs a couple of years to pull up his averages from his time on the Kings.
2015
Then
3 - Sacramento Kings - Kaleb Ferrell SF 6'7'' 225 19 B C+ C C+ C- A
For a freshman, Kaleb sure has a nice build. He's only 19, but he can fly and he weighs 225lbs. A little of that is fat, and Kaleb isn't as quick as most GMs would like, and neither is he very strong. If Kaleb can hit the weights he'd be a dangerous player. Kaleb is a solid scorer, and thrives inside to mid range. His 3point shot is starting to come along nicely. Mr. Ferrell is a dangerous player and has the potential to be an absolute stud at the next level.
4 - Sacramento Kings - Craig Victor SF 6'6'' 200 20 B- C C- C B- B
Victor is a strong, athletic forward who loves to crash the boards. He played center in HS, and played a lot of PF in college. However, scouts believe SF is his natural position. Victor should be a useful player down the road. I don't think he'll ever reach elite potential, but he reminds me of a better version of Ryan Gomes.
Now
Kaleb Ferrell SF 21 6'8'' 220 A- B- C+ B C A
Craig Victor SF 6'6'' 202 22 C+ C C C+ B- C
The talk of this draft has been Ferrell. Ferrell has improved greatly. He was considered a big guy, but has worked out and lost some weight, as well as growing an inch. Ferrell has improved in every single category, a rarity. In three TC, he is up a total of 2 in inside, 1 in outside, 1 in handles, 2 in defense, 1 in rebounding, and stayed the same in potential. A great young player at only 21 still has room to grow. For his short career, he is averaging 32 mpg, 18.2 ppg, 4.7 rpg, and 1 spg. He has only played for the Kings for his career.
Victor is the lost player of his draft. He was talked of being a tweener forward, capable of playing both positions. He wasn’t expected to reach an elite potential, but has develop quite nicely. He has gone down in inside and handles, but up in defense. He played two years for the Kings, averaging 16.3 mpg, 5.1 ppg, and 3.2 rpg. He is currently a free agent and does not have a team.
2016
Then
6 - Sacramento Kings - Jordan Bradley(Wisconsin) PF 21 6-9 245lbs B- C- C- C+ B- A JR
This entire draft class doesn't have very many good rebounders, but one player you could look to for rebounding is Jordan Bradley. Bradley is a very good rebounder, he knows how to box out and he has good body size/ strength to snag those bastards. What I like about Bradley is he can score! It seems less and less these days you can find a nice big man who can score. Now days, it's athleticism and shot blockers, and Bradley couldn't block a shot if his life depended on it. He averaged merely 0.5bpg last year at Wisconsin. Thankfully, he does play pretty good positional defense and has a pretty solid all around game. Jordan should be a top 10 pick.
16 - Sacramento Kings - Frankie Smalls(Arizona) SG 22 6-5 185lbs C C+ C B+ D+ A JR
And another SG fighting to hear his name in the top 13, is Frankie Smalls. Frankie is definitely small, at only 185 pounds, you think he would get beat around a bit. But that's not necessarily the case. Smalls plays big sometimes and shows good strength/athleticism. And although his amazing defense is focus on perimeter defense, and stealing, he can also plays inside defense fairly well. The biggest let down we saw in him, is his lack of offense. If he can turn his offensive game to be as productive as his defense, I think we will find ourselves with a pretty good starting SG.
4 - Sacramento Kings - Shane Behanan(Cincinnati) PF 20 6-11 235lbs C D+ C- C+ C+ A SO
Now
Jordan Bradley C 22 6'9'' 245 C+ C- C B- B- B
Frankie Smalls SG 23 6'5'' 187 C C+ C+ B+ C- D
Shane Behanan PF 21 6'11'' 235 C D+ C- B- C+ C
Hard to say which one has become the better player. Bradley has improved his defense, however his highly touted rebounding stayed the same in two TC and his touted scoring has gone down. Smalls has become a huge bust. He has kept his lack of offense the same, so atleast that didn’t go down. He improved his handling but his strongest suit, his defense, has stayed the same. It was around A- after his first TC, but decreased after his second one to return to what it was coming out of college. Smalls’ worst part might be his potential. He was considered a great prospect. He is now looking at the downside of his career at such a early age. Behanan was a second rounder, so not a ton was expected out of him. He has improved his rebounding some, at the expense of taking a hit at scouted potential. All 3 of these guys have only played for the Kings and are still on the team.
Bradley has seen the most court of the three players taken in this draft. Bradley is averaging around 19 mpg for his career with 7.1 ppg and 5.4 rpg. He still can’t block a ball. Smalls, who started some games last year, has yet to see the court this year. Last year he did average 3.5 ppg and 3.3 rpg in 22 mpg. Not great but he is considered a defensive player. Behanan hasn’t seen the court much either. He is on a team with so many bigs so his playing time has been limited. For his short career he is averaging 10.7 mpg, 2.3 ppg, and 2.6 rpg.
2017
Then
1 - Sacramento Kings - Rasheed Sulaimon SG 6'6'' 195 19 B+ C+ C+ C+ C- A
Boom! Should be the top pick in this years draft.
3 - Sacramento Kings - Marcus Smart PG 6'0'' 175 23 C C+ B C+ C- B
Now
Rasheed Sulaimon SG 19 6'7'' 199 B+ B- C B- C- A
Marcus Smart PG 23 6'0'' 175 C C+ B B- C- C
Sulaimon came in with already great ratings, and in his first TC he improved several parts of his game. Sulaimon became a better outside shooter and defender, but became a worse ball handler. Starting in all 33 games for the Hawks, Sulaimon is the teams leading scorer at 19.6 ppg. Sulaimon is also pressuring the defense and getting 1.7 spg.
Smart also improved during TC. While he didn’t do as well as Sulaimon or even Garrett before him, he did improve his defense. He took a hit in potential and probably won’t be the next Jarvis Garrett, but he can be a solid contributor for the Kings. He has played in every game, but only gets around 9.5 mpg as a backup.
Both guys are still on the team.
Sulaimon became the Kings #1 overall pick and is likely the new face of this franchise
