Before the deal, Magic cut three.
then...
Grizzlies trade: Scott Padgett Brian Cardinal Hakim Warrick Chucky Atkins Damon Stoudamire
Magic trade: Grant Hill
then...
Grizzlies sign any FA vet.
Grizzlies trade: FA Vet
Magic trade: Jameer Nelson
Grizzlies confirm.
Reason: Fat expiring and a young starting PG.

Okay, I think we can all agree this Magic GM is downright atrocious. What an awful trade for them.

In fact, he should be fired for this. It's beyond horrible. How in the fuck does this possibly benefit the Magic?!

Lumley should be fired? You've been involved for what, three days, and he should be fired?

i agree with scott, deal easily favors memphis. nelson is gonna be a solid contributor immediately and hill is a nice scorer.

eww I don't understand this for the Magic at all. They basically took on contracts and gave up Nelson for nothing in return.

This is a horrible trade by Lums. Expiring contracts are huge in any league, and Hill has the biggest around. I think Nelson is also a very good player. Lumley gets almost nothing of value, and picks up huge bad contracts. its just a bad deal.

it is not that bad considering jameer nelson hasnt proved anything, even his ratings blow. So we can not say that this is 100% a horrible trade. It is just because the names of the players have everyone when in fact this trade is not that bad at all. its far far away from firing a person and its far away from being rejected. Lumley gets role players, and cc gets what he wants.. leave it as that. nobody is getting fired.

dan even though you maybe right, that doesn't mean he benifits from the deal. you're supposed to work at making your team better, that's the goal.
firing is a little drastic though, yeah.

yeah i know you are suppose to benift your team each trade, maybe hes doing this to set up aonther, who knows. all im saying is, you can not fire a guy for this. now trading like kg or dirk or someone for scrubs is another story.

This is horrible... not because of the players names... not because of their ratings... but because of the contracts. You guys say this guy lumly is a good GM, so I'd like to see what moves he follows up with after this one.
