he is just making the point that you should strive to make your team better not sit on youth all the time.
Ducky makes a good point but the fact is he would not ruin his youth. He probably could keep Rasheeed and Ferrell, his two best players, and get a stud big, and have a nice looking present and future. Instead sitting on guys that are mediocre.

It isn't easy making your team better, I've personally found it close to impossible to make trades in this league and the only way to make your team better is through luck of the draft or trading for a player that is old and overpaid but is still good. The GM's that have the upperhand in that department the ones that have been here the longest. They were able to get good talent early on and trade them on their way out.

^^he could of resigned Purdue to a 1 year deal So he had bad luck in the lottery, why does it bother you? I also had bad luck in the lottery. He has had bad luck? Picked 6th Jordan Bradley PF 23 6'9'' 245 B- D+ C- B+ B B Picked 7th Tymon Howard PF 22 6'11'' 249 C+ D+ D C A- A Picked 5th LaBryan Nash SF 25 6'10'' 220 C+ C+ C B+ B B Picked 3rd Kaleb Ferrell SF 22 6'8'' 220 A- B B- B C A
Picked 1st Rasheed Sulaimon SG 20 6'7'' 203 B+ B- C B C- A
Picked 7th MatÃas Nocedal PG 26 6'4'' 200 C+ A- A- B C- BPicked 10th(with spurs now) Darrin Perdue C 23 6'11'' 235 C C- D A B- B The 3 I bolded are very good starters. Ferrell and Sluaimon are studs, and Nocedal is a damn good PG. Still only 26 and has great size. Perdue and Jordan Bradley are both looking really good, and have starter quality. Nash is really the only pick that hasn't panned out yet. And Howard is still young so we got to give him time. I really don't get how you can say he had bad luck in lotto, lol.

this is just silly, there is no reason this guy cant compete.
6 or 7 seasons ago the Sonics were the worst team in the league. 2 Lotto picks later + a ton of big trades, and we've been a top team ever since.
In sims you have to trade youth for stars to compete, and then you have to trade aging stars for youth before they lose all their value. The 76ers are a prime example of screwing up the latter.
its not "bad luck", its unwillingness to take any risks
saying "trades are impossible" is just inaccurate. If you know what youre looking for, and you know what you can offer to benefit the other team, trades are very doable.

If you are a good gm you know how to build a team. I was a good team for awhile in this league up until about 2015 I think. I tore it down, and now I have brought it back up and we will be a solid team for many years. It is not hard to trade youth then may or may not turn out to be solid for already proven guys, its just taking some initiative and looking around the league. People are willing to trade you just need to find them. Drafting players is not the way to go about building your team in this league, if you do that you will be like the Kings, because all he does is draft guys and hope they pan out. Hey some do, but some dont so you will wait for many, many years to get a 40 win team. Sounds fun to me. Have a good time being mediocre.

I gotta go with Lakers and Sonics on this one. Now, I'm not saying Kings is doing a bad job, but like shaun said, there's no reason that he shouldn't be able to compete. He has the tools to do, he just needs to make some moves.

the kings will make the playoffs next season. Anyone interested in making that happen can PM us with possible trade ideas. sulaiman and ferrell are pretty much untouchable.
