OK, the streak of 10 straight Division Titles will be over now ...
Sonics Trade:
Derrick Favors
Pistons Trade:
Omar Calhoun (Frontloaded, so cap works)
Trashaun Carroll
Lakers 2023 1st round pick
Is it oustanding value? Maybe not, but I think its fair. Carroll is a risk, but I think he has the potential to be very very good. Calhoun is very very useful and the Lakers pick should be handy. Good dealing.

The Sonics general manager picks his spots. Its not hard to see why the team has won so much for so long. Calhoun and Carroll will be good for years.
Detroit should be a threat to New Yorks title defense.

Detroit should be a threat to New Yorks title defense. Carroll could be nice, but unless Calhoun has a magical handle rating, I don't see him being anything but an interesting looking back-up. It's the Lakers pick that makes this deal solid for the Sonics, if last year wasn't a fluke for LA. If Detroit picks up some good depth, which there is plenty left, they are the favorites in the East. |
