Sacramento has a problem. This problem goes all the way back to last season. Matias Nocedal, who finished last season on All-League 2nd team left the Kings and a playoff team to chase the big bucks ($36.75 million over the next 2 years). This created a large problem in Sacramento. Losing the teams point guard and 3rd leading scorer is a big problem.
King fans react to Nocedal taking the money and running
Atlanta drafted Torgrim Sommerfeldt to possibly be the point guard of the future. Sommerfeldt was touted as a good defender who limits his turnovers. However in his 4 years on the Kings, he has not shown improvement in the defense he was touted for. He improved his passing some, but not enough to earn a starting job. The Kings needed a free agent pg.

The Kings then tried to go after some MLE point guards. However with good point guards being a hot commodity, the Kings were only able to pick up Shane Rector. Rector, who is in his 5th year after being a starter for the Hornets before, signed the 1 year deal to hopefully be the answer to the Kings problem. However, someone was signed that took that starting job from him.
Tracy Abrams? Most fans were asking, “Who is Abrams?” Abrams, who was signed to the LLE, is on his 4th team since coming into the league. This was his first starting job after serving as a backup to the Hornets, Nets, and Knicks. Abrams, who is putting up 14 ppg, 6 apg and 2 topg in 31.5 mpg, is no longer starting. Abrams went down with Patella Tendinitis, ending his run as a starter. Even when he returns from his injury, he will not have a starting job anymore.
Abrams was the starter before he got hurt
John Wall has played 12 full seasons for the Chicago Bulls. He has 1 championship ring and made All-Rookie Team back in 2012. Wall, who has career averages of 7.8 apg and 1.2, is a very efficient point guard. He is careful in his decision making, making only 1.2 topg so far this year. Wall is now the leader of a new team and is looking to improve them from their 14-12 record. The Kings, who have not had a very efficient point guard, will look to use their new point guard’s strengths to their benefit. They still have two solid scorers in Ferrell and Sulaimon. While Wall might not be the missing piece of the puzzle, he will improve the team. Now, anything will be an improvement over their 14-12 record as they look to be a top team in the Pacific once again.
Wall looks to lead the Kings like he lead the Bulls
