Ok. Since a lot of people seem annoyed by this trade, for whatever reason, I'm gonna break it down. First of all, everybody in this thread except for a couple are bitter because they asked for my pick and thought they had more to give, so I'm going to give you the reason that you feel you deserve.
But before that I need to say a few things.
Miami - LOL @ you having the nerve to talk about somebody's team. The same guy who wants to "stay young, but still somewhat compete". You know what that gets you? That gets you a 1st round knock out and a shitty mid-1st round pick which nets you a role player or decent starter at best. Congratulations, you are going no where.
Bucks - What are you, retarded? You gave me a list of players to see who I was interested in for the #9 pick, and I told you I wasn't interested in any of them. So what do you do? You package about 2 or 3 of those same guys and ask me would I deal you the #9 pick for them. LOL.
Nets - Torey Boozer? Well excuse me for not jumping at the thought of getting a C+ defender @ PF with a 14M-21.8M contract. LOL.
I'm not even going to get into the actual pick value. We don't see a whole lot of special talent in this thing, but that's mainly because we're more picky about a players flaws than most GM's.
And unlike some GM's, we're picking a direction. You tank, or you go for it. With some luck in F/A and another trade we'll be right in the middle of the pack. Clearly it doesn't take much to win in this league, as you have almost as any GM's trying to get out of the playoffs as you have trying to get in. Their is no point in "being decent", getting a mid-1st draft pick, wash, rinse, repeat, and then you look up in a few years and realize you haven't done shit.
Getting Forney solidifies one of the most important if not the most important position for us, on a manageable contract. A rare shot blocker, one of two C's in the top 10 in blocking under the age of 30, and I wouldn't be surprised if he even improved.
Anymore questions?
