Big Performers
Name: Antawn Jamison
Team: Washington Wizards
Key Stats 24.4ppg, 9.1rpg, 2.3apg, 1.3spg
After saying good-bye to team mate and good friend Gilbert Arenas during the 2007 off-season, Antawn Jamison has come out firing, leading his Wizards (along with Dirk Nowitkzi) to the best record in the East. Although much credit deserves to be Dirks, Jamison has stepped up tremendously averaging 24.4ppg, 9.1rpf and 1.3apg in just under 36 minutes. If Jamison's good fortune continues, don't be surprised to see him and the Wizards seriously competing for the UOSL's first ever championship.
Name: Eric Snow
Team: Cleveland Cavaliers
Key Stats 10.6ppg, 7.5apg, 5.8rpg, 1.3spg, 1.6tpg
Although 90% of the credit due (thanks to Cleveland's 25-9 record) deserves to be forwarded to LeBron James, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Richard Jefferson's, Eric Snows distribution of the ball, solid scoring rate, better than expected rebounding and amazing turnover count need to be praised. Snows stellar performances and consistency are keeping Cleveland up the top of the East, whether people decide to acknowledge that or not.
Name: Luke Ridnour
Team: Boston Celtics
Key Stats 16.1ppg, 7.4apg, 3.6rpg, 1.9tpg
Ridnour has come out firing for his new team, the Boston Celtics averaging just over 16 points per game. Ridnour is also dishing the ball off a near 7.5 times a game whilst only turning it over 2 times per game. Ridnour, along with Rashard Lewis and Al Harrington are the reason behind Boston's unexpected success this season.
Name: JJ Reddick
Team: Miami Heat
Key Stats 13.1ppg, 4rpg, 1spg
After being drafted 11th by the Orlando Magic at the beginning of the season (following a NCAA Player of the Year performance the year before), Reddick is posting a sensational 13ppg and 4rpg for the new look Miami Heat.
Name: Mike Dunleavy
Team: Philadelphia 76ers
Key Stats 18.8ppg, 7.3rpg, 6.3apg, 2.1spg
Although I could probably average 20+ppg for the 76ers roster this year, Dunleavy's performances can't be ignored. Not only is he posting 18.8ppg (45% from the field), Dunleavy is also notching up 7.3rpg, 6.3apg and an impressive 2.1spg.
Name: Brandon Roy
Team: Portland Trailblazers
Key Stats 22.9ppg, 5.4apg, 3.7rpg, 1.3spg
Any first year playing posting averages even remotely similar to Roy's deserve a mention.
Name: Josh Howard
Team: Utah Jazz
Key Stats 19.9ppg, 8.6rpg, 2.3apg, 1.7spg
Much of Utah's success thus far can be accredited to the play of Mike Bibby, Andrei Kirilenko and Ron Artest, however a good portion of that credit should be given to star shooting guard, Josh Howard. After being traded to the Jazz only recently, Howard is putting up a near 20ppg every night, along with 8 and a half boards, 2 and a half assists and 1.7 steals per game.
