The First sim of the 2010-2011 UOSL2 season has just kicked off and boy was it something. It was considered to be the most highly anticipated UOSL2 season so far and I see some surprises that I will discuss here.
First, the biggest surprise had to fall in the hands of the Sacramento Kings. They have started out with a league best 7-1 record that have made all the gms wonder what maniac is doing over there. This team has never seen the daylight of such a wonderful Sim, nor ever touch first place. When they fired there GM Prez a season ago I thought this team was in the gutter, it seems it is in the right path and they are heading toward success.
Kevin Martin has been amazing this first Sim, with an astonishing 28.6 ppg, 6.6 boards, 2.6 spg and an amazing 474 FG% and 415 3P%. He is the deadly force on this team that all gms around the league need to worry about. Coming in behind Martin is Deron Williams who is having a great start to the season as well. He is avg 22 points 4 boards 9 assists 1.5 steals with just under 3 TOs a game. They may be the best new back court in UOSL2; we will just have to see how they pan out.
The Kings front court does need some work as guys like Julian Wright, Donte Greene, and Spencer Hawes make up the 3. 4 and 5. This may be the start of a new generation where Kings fans experience a playoff series.
Next we look into this week’s ultimate player performance. It has to go to the one and only Amare Stoudemire of the Suns. He has just been amazing this first sim of the season something I have never seen done in UOSL2 before. He has put up 40, yes that is right, 40 ppg, 14 boards 1.7 assists, with 1 steal and barely 1 block. He has a 518 fg% and does not look to be slowing down. He has started the suns off to a 5-2 record, and looks to be one of the biggest threats in the west. Who could really stop him? We will just have to wait and see, but nbal must be happy he did not trade him in the off-season.
Finally I will discuss the biggest disappointment. This would have to fall in the defending champs lap as they come out of the first sim with a 1-5 record. That is the worst in the league. After a championship title the Chicago Bulls traded Kirk Hinrich for Channing Frye to bolster up their front court. It does not seem to be paying off, as Frye is 13 and 9 with .2 bpg! Though they did need front court help it doesn’t seem like the combo of T-mac and Paul Pierce is working out to well as neither is shooting that great. Elton Brand though is still the life force of this team and the main factor when it comes down to game time. He averages 26 ppg 10 boards 2 assists 2 blocks for this Bulls team really a force to be wreck end with. The bulls may have just fluked this opening sim, everything could be right the next few sims, but I have been wrong. They need someone at the 3, someone who can play some defense and score a little, or there chances of repeating are slim.
That is all today, thank you for joining me on this weekly of addition of around UOSL2. I’m your host Dan Basone, stay classy UOSL2.
