1 New York Knicks - DeShaun Thomas(Ohio State) PF 19 6-8 230lbs B- C+ C B- C+ A FR
With a solid young backcourt, and a need to fill the hole at PF, I see the Knicks taking DeShaun Thomas. He'll play alongside, 09 ROY Kevin Love. His athleticism and versatility creates match-up problems for teams on defense and offense. He may be a bit undersized for PF, but I'm sure he'll do fine.
2 Seattle Sonics - Xavier Henry(Kansas) SG 20 6-6 220lbs B- C+ C+ B- C B SO
This pick makes the Sonics look scary good. Biedrins - Cousins - Henry - Gordon + 100 young PGs. I really like Henry's size. He's got a SF/PF frame, but a PG/SG game. He should do it all for the sonics.
3 Boston Celtics - Derrick Favors(Clemson) C 20 6-9 235lbs B D+ D+ C+ C+ A SO
Don't be surprised if Celtics go somewhere else with someone like Knight here. But I think a dominant center is what Spencer will be looking for. Offensively Favors is rock solid, but the rest of his game is still coming along. Favors is also a little undersized, but he is no tweener. Should be a great player for the Celtics.
4 Utah Jazz - Renardo Sidney(UCLA) PF 21 6-10 245lbs B- C C+ B- C+ A SO
The Jazz have too many good guards, so Sidney seems like the logical choice. Even though Sidney is a big body who likes to go inside, don't be fooled. He has solid quickness and sees the court very well for a big man. Defensively he's as good as a rookie gets, and he has no real weakness. Jazz fill out one of the most dangerous young teams with another stud.
5 Dallas Mavericks - Brandon Knight(Uconn) PG 19 6-4 195lbs C+ B- B- B- C- B FR
Since the Mavericks already got Bargnani at SF, I don't see them taking Watford. Plus Brandon Knight, who in my opinion is the most uosl2 ready player, is still available. So there's no doubt allstar goes with Knight here. A tall guard who has a very solid all around game.
6 Washington Wizards* - B.J. Mullens(Ohio State) C 22 7-0 260lbs B- C- C- B- B- B JR
Good big men are hard to find now days, and we all know the Brazilian is obsessed with big men who cover half the court. But this big man can actually move, unlike Diop. BJ Mullens should fit in nicely and could start right away for the Wizards
7 Miami Heat - Artem Zabelin(Russia) SF 21 7-1 225lbs C C+ B- C+ C+ A
I know the Heat are stacked with SFs and solid big men. But I can guarentee you they don't have a guy like Artem Zabelin. A-Z is one of the most unique players ever to enter a uosl2 draft. He is extremely tall, but played PG for his team in Europe and has developed amazing quickness and great court vision. This could end up creating havoc for other teams.
8 Boston Celtics - Christian Watford(Alabama) SF 19 6-8 215lbs C+ B+ D+ C+ D+ A SO
After taking Favors, the Boston Celtics fill in a positional need, SF. Watford has great size, and is still young and raw. His outside shot is deadly and the rest of his game is coming along. His handles and rebounding sucks, but him and GG, could be the next Ray Allen-Rashard Lewis offensive threat.
9 Brooklyn Nets - Victor Claver(Spain) SF 21 6-10 235lbs B- C+ C B- C B
They got their frontcourt and backcourt set, but what about the middle? Claver "The Spaniard" Claver should fit in with the Nets lengthy lineup. Claver has a solid game that's improving yearly. He could see some playing time right away.
10 New York Knicks - Dominic Cheek(Ohio State) SG 20 6-6 185lbs B- B C C D+ A SO
The Knicks could go anywhere with this pick. Dominic Cheek could end up being the player the Knicks take. He has a great outside shot and can penetrate well for a guard. His defense is suspect, but the Knicks can take a bit of a risk here after taking Thomas #1.
11 Los Angeles Clippers - Larry Drew Jr.(North Carolina) PG 22 6-0 185lbs C B- B C+ D+ B JR
The Clippers are pretty stacked at every position, so why not take the BPA who I see as LD Jr. Drew is a your stereotype PG who has great leadership. He is probably the best true PG in this draft. Don't be surprised if clips go with a different Drew here... Drew Gordon.
12 New Orleans Hornets - Drew Gordon(UCLA) PF 21 6-9 240lbs C+ D+ C+ C B- A JR
Like the Clippers pick, the Hornets should just go with BPA. Gordon has got game, but his defense will cause him to free fall. Drew has solid rebounding, and moves very well.
13 Orlando Magic - Trae Ziegler(Michigan) SG 19 6-6 190lbs C C+ C C+ C A FR
With a aging backcourt, I think it would be wise for James to start loading up some youngings. Trae Ziegler is a freshman out of Michigan with an unpolished game. But he has shown size of improvements and was a big name out of HS. Magic take a project here hoping for the best.
