AP (SAN ANTONIO) - After literally cleaning house last season and entering free agency with over $47 million in cap space, the Spurs made the biggest splash of any team in free agency with four major signings.
On the first day of free agency, the Spurs announced the signings of shooting guards Eric Gordon and Monta Ellis, point guard Darren Collison and the re-signing of power forward Zach Randolph.
"This is a market that demands winning-calibre teams and we are thrilled to be able to bring this fantastic foursome to the court," said the team's general manager.
The biggest challenge will be moving Eric Gordon to the small forward position, where he is not accustomed to playing.
The team's biggest gaping hole is the center position, which contains only first round draft pick Catalin Baciu, who was drafted with the 18th overall pick. Baciu is a raw prospect who will be in an immediate position to earn minutes.
"We are a team in transition, but with these new pieces, we expect immediate results and a playoff berth."

ooo calling a playoff spot already.. No front court.. might be a problem.. If having a 22/11 player up front constitutes as no frontcourt, I guess I'm fucked. As was mentioned, center is the team's weak position, but at the very least, David West will be my other starter

Meh if he puts up 22/11 and gives up 25/12 .. it really means nothing..

Nice short article. Definitely one of the most impressive offseasons I've seen (Or rather lucky).
