Before the deal, cut Linton Johnson and sign any 1 mil fa vet.
Grizzlies trade: Mike Miller Kyle Lowry Andray Blatche Dan Dickau 1 mil FA vet
Pistons trade: Chauncey Billups Rip Hamilton Hakim Warrick
Grizzlies confirm.
Miller and Lowry were nice, but I think this team is ready to compete for the Playoffs so bringing in Rip and Billups should help in the 2nd half of the season.

decent. I don't like Grizz trading Lowry and Miller as if they aren't as good as rip and chauncy. However, chuancy is damn good and is the type of player that can turn a team around (especially with weapons like Durant/Gasol). So I'll give Grizz the win here. But RIP sucks

i think the grizzlies shoulda stayed PAT... i greatly admire the will to win but i think it should have been resisted. they're a team that would have greatly benefited from patience in the future.
however billups brings a lot that lowry won't for at least a couple years and so it's an understandable move. it'll be interesting to see if they can compete with the big boys now.

I don't think the Grizz necessarily made a mistake to try to compete, but I don't know if this is the type of deal that can put them over the top. Maybe it will work out, or have something else up their sleeve.
