wow. Was this the right move for the celtics? Is Allen, PP, and KG enough to win?

is that good enough to win? lol why does everyone keep questioning that? that trio is deadly, those players are superstars.
the question is how bad will the celtics future be?, seeing as how they gave up so much young talent.
but to be honest, there is no doubt in my mind that that team is a championship contender, and a serious one.

I think the celtics would be nasty to tell you the truth. Just with those three they can go along way in the East. Plus the fact that those three are still nasty.

Championship contender no doubt.. but like Duce said, there's like only two or three young players left? Rondo, Perkins and Tony Allen ? Too bad they cut Allan Ray.. and Ray Allen.. would of been nice..

How can they be a championship contender? They will be like the Rockets and the Lakers. A few great players and the rest of the team is shit. I just don't see it happening, not unless they make some other deals or signings.

Well how hard is it going to be for them to sign some good veteran players to play along side the 3 of them? They have a great reason to lure them to play there..
There's still players like Brevin Knight, PJ Brown, Posey etc..

Didn't Knight sign to LAC?
Brown and Posey wouldn't be much help.

Horrible move for Celts. PP is not even close to that PP few seasons ago. Ray Allen aint that Ray Allen either. Sure, they will have 2 soon to be former superstars in Pierce and Allen and KG. The rest of the team is YUCK !! Smush Parkers and co. Bulls, Pistons, Heat, etc. are still much better teams then Boston with KG now.

Unless the Celts grab a legit, pass-first PG (Brevin Knight would be a perfect fit), they'll be a mid-seeded team in the East. KG's best year was with Sam Cassell... look at the PG's he had when the Wolves couldn't get past the 1st round (or make the playoffs): Marbury (shoot-first), Troy Hudson, Marko Jaric...

Well this deal can be good and bad. I would have stayed with the team they had without trading for ray allen and dealt PP for youth and picks and whatever they could get. Now that they dealt for allen getting KG will be good... but for how long?

1. I wouldnt have traded for Allen and instead, dealt Pierce for youth.
2. Because they DID trade for Allen, this trade makes perfect sense. The Celtics have chosen a direction and are following through with it.
3. This isn't a sim league. 3 guys can hold up a team. KG did it by himself for a while, now he has Ray (who is coming off a great season) and Pierce (who was injured for most of it however when he played he was good).
4. They keep Rondo and have cash to maybe sign Brevin Knight?
5. Great deal by Minny. I love it for both sides.

I 100% hate this move for Boston. They are not a legit contender right now. They are still worse than the majority of teams let alone in the division, and still worse than the likes of Detroit and Cleveland. You need role players to win championships. Now they just have a bunch of guys probably close to being past their prime. These big 3 will get fatigued easy. Counting on Kendrick Perkins to log big minutes, is a scary thought. If they had not gone for Allen and done this KG deal i would understand it more. But still, they completely overpaid big time.
