Draft Notes-
This class has 3 loaded players: First, we'll take a look at Anthony Williams. Anthony is your typically PF. A big guy with solid strength who plays good defense and blocks shots. What I really like about Anthony is his handling. He played SG in HS, so even though he isn't the quickest player out there, he knows how to handle the rock. Williams is an average scorer, and an ok rebounder. Another should be a really good defender in uosl, and I expect him to find a starting role down the road... This entire draft class doesn't have very many good rebounders, but one player you could look to for rebounding is Jordan Bradley. Bradley is a very good rebounder, he knows how to box out and he has good body size/ strength to snag those bastards. What I like about Bradley is he can score! It seems less and less these days you can find a nice big man who can score. Now days, it's athleticism and shot blockers, and Bradley couldn't block a shot if his life depended on it. He averaged merely 0.5bpg last year at Wisconsin. Thankfully, he does play pretty good positional defense and has a pretty solid all around game. Jordan should be a top 10 pick. Last but not least is Lavon Harper. I'll go out on a limb here and say that Lavon is the most uosl2 ready player in this draft file. Why? Well first of all, Lavon is a very strong player. He's ready to bang with the big boys. Also, he has great presence on the boards, something that's very hard to teach players. And Lavon is a beast on defense. At 6-10 250lbs, he dominates the paint: Blocking shots left and right, and denying players inside. He's got all the important tools to be successful. And he's got them polished. Oh, and Lavon is a very slow player, so he may have a hard time guarding more athletic big men and that could be a problem for his career.
And here's the best of the rest...
Kevin Thomas is a strong/athletic SF/PF. His game is still raw, but scouts love his versatility and his upside. Reggie Dillard has never been able to find his offense, and he never will. But with great strength, Dillard is a force on the boards and defense. He should be a backup player at best. Timmy Knipp is a player scouts like because of the match up problems he'll create. Timmy is a good shooter and likes to play perimeter ball. Quayshad Williams is your typicaly late first/early second PF. Solid rebounder and defender, with some nice offense. Quayshad is also a pretty quick player. And although Perry Ellis has struggled to find consistency in his game, he could still be a very helpful player with his strength and tough defense. Not to mention good shot blocking.
And 2nd round projection players include: Shane Behanan Drew Wikelius Aaron Ross. All these guys will be projects, and have a nice upside. Still raw, but maybe down the road you'll see improvements.
