2020 UOSL2 Mock Draft
This does include the lotto results and isn’t just purely based on record.

1. Houston Rockets- DeVante Smith-Rivera(Texas) PF 19 6-9 250lbs B C- C- B- B- A FR
I could have done a little funny thing about them taking the worse player in the draft, but that’s just cruel. Smith-Rivera is a stud. My personal opinion is that he will not blow up as soon as he is in the league. Positional defense will only take you so far, so he needs that shot blocking skill set. His lack of blocking plus a raw offensive game makes him a bit of a project actually. But when he does improve he will be a stud no doubt. Parker and him will form a great combination.
2. Los Angeles Clippers- Dean Danos(Florida) SG 21 6-4 180lbs C+ A- B- C D+ A JR
With the Clippers in complete rebuild mode, they take a player who should be able to take the scoring load on his back. Danos will come in and be a lights out scorer for them. The biggest knock on him is the fact that his defense is low and he can’t rebound, but who cares? He is a stud scorer and the Clippers need a new face for the franchise.
3. Detroit Pistons- Trashaun Carroll(Arizona) PF 20 6-11 225lbs B- C C+ B C A SO
1 Stud big man? Check. Top tier young pg? Check. Well the Pistons have two top things covered, but the rest is still up in the air. Carroll is a great defender and should team up well with Taco. They could go with a wing with Kasperbauer, but I like them taking a big man to team with Taco. Two great defenders will be solid for the future, too bad neither are top shot blockers.
4. Denver Nuggets-N-Kewerin Okoro(Oklahoma State) C 20 6-11 260lbs B- D+ C+ C+ C+ A SO
They are in full rebuild mode. They have SG covered with Engel. They have some big men but I’m not sure if they are franchise material. So the decision comes down to Okoro or Hamilton. Okoro gets the nod. He is a better scorer both inside and out, and a better handles guy. He doesn’t have a polished defensive game but it will come around soon enough.
5. Portland Trailblazers- Thomas Hamilton(Illinois) C 20 6-10 250lbs C D- F+ B C+ A SO
Portland is an interesting team. Mayo isn’t getting any younger and they don’t have any real studs outside of Mayo. Casey could help but with a slew of sg’s already, why take that risk right now. Hamilton is a solid big man who can pair with Thompkins. He can defend and rebound nicely. They don’t need a scorer with Eaton and mayo on board so that is a plus since Hamilton isn’t that.
6. Utah Jazz (from Boston Celtics)- Casey Kasperbauer(Iowa State) SG 20 6-7 205lbs B- C+ C+ B- C- B SO
Nova, Nova, Nova. Not sure what direction he will go in. Not sure if Nova knows which direction he will go in. They have the big and sf set with Jenkins and Davis. The biggest question is whether Nova believes 3rd year man Jelinek is the savior at the point for them. If he isn’t the answer, then it’s Horne. If he is, then it is Casey. Casey is very polished right now. He might not see huge improvements but he can be a solid and serviceable player.
7. New York Knicks- Matthew Campbell(California) C 22 6-11 255lbs C C D- C+ A- B JR
They have their pg in Dawkins. They have a solid SG in Delinic. They need everything else. Campbell is a stud rebounder. Yes his offensive game sucks and defense is a little low, but that rebounding game is beastly. Even a little improvement in defense makes him a great big man right now and the Knicks need that desperately.
8. Utah Jazz- Xavier Horne(Miami(FL)) PG 20 6-0 170lbs C C+ B C C- A SO
So Nova’s back on the clock. This isn’t a need pick since he has 2 already. The biggest problem is that I don’t see him taking a big risk on a big man right here when he has another first two picks later. He can keep Horne and groom his as the future, or use him as trade bait. Either way this is a solid pick by the Jazz.
9. Washington Wizards- Raymond Dorsey(Texas) SF 22 6-7 220lbs C+ B- D+ C+ C A JR
I know one thing: Washington doesn’t need a point guard. The rest is a question mark. Mullens had a solid year this past year, but he will likely go down in TC. Kendall didn’t have a great season. Hickson is about to take a hit it looks like and the other Marhsall has been a bust so far. Washington tries to compete and rebuild with one of the trio of small forwards. Dorsey goes here due to his up and coming offensive game. Purvis looks like he could be a combo forward right now and I think that Dorsey can be a true wing, which the Wizards need.
10. Utah Jazz (from Philadelphia 76ers)- Adofis Washington(Ohio State) PF 20 6-10 245lbs C+ D+ D+ C B- A SO
Nova again? Damn. I really don’t feel like writing anything about Nova’s 3rd pick so I pick this guy because his name is cool.
11. Milwaukee Bucks- Anthony Bowers(Uconn) SG 22 6-5 195lbs B B D C C- B JR
They have 3 guys at 3 positions, but outside of that they need starters. Sullivan can start alongside Beasley, but they still need a SG. Bowers is alright, not great, but solid. They could take one of the sf’s and either move him to the 2 or shift Pierre there due to his outside shot. Either way they get a decent player. Bowers looks like a pure scorer. While that isn’t a need, it can’t hurt. Purvis could be the pick so they have a tall lineup with Purvis and Pierre at the wings.
12. Phoenix Suns- Bryce Wright(Oregon) SF 22 6-4 210lbs C+ B+ C- C C- B
I keep talking about Purvis so he should be the pick soon, right? Wrong once again. Purvis could be solid but a former PF at the 2 with London…ehhhhhh. Wright is a bit short for a SF so he could shift over. He has a very solid 3 point game, can handle the ball, and is quick. What more could you ask for from a SG?
13. San Antonio Spurs (from Toronto Raptors)- Rodney Purvis(South Carolina) SF 21 6-9 235lbs B- C D B- C A JR
The Spurs have some very solid pieces. They need a SG badly. The top ones have been taken. Purvis at 13?? Naw they have Price. Who cares they need a backup. With his skill set he can backup both Price and see some time at PF if they like. They have 3 solid bigs so they could trade one of them to get the SG that they need. Could always trade the pick too if they want since they aren’t likely to get a need here.
