Magic: What sparked the thought behind your trades with the Knicks, you've sent them Chandler Thomas, Dawkins, and now Kyle Anderson?
Warriors: Well Dawkins landed me Kenny Boynton, who in my eyes was the best SG in the league at the time. I didn't want to deal Dawkins but I had Anderson leading my team. We won the championship that season so this trade was a success.
After this past season I decided to rebuild and the Knicks had my pick for this season. I got my pick back and a solid player in Matej Delinac. I then dealt Delinac for Pick 11 in the draft which was Xavi Rey. I traded them Anderson because they had the best offer on the table. I got 3 picks and a solid youngster in Davonte Moore. I used Moore as trade bait and landed 2 more picks.
Magic: Speaking of rebuilding, what made you decide to rebuild again. You've already proved you could do it, why not hold onto a dynasty?
Warriors: Well after my first round loss to the Grizzlies. I decided to rebuild...Losing Kyle Anderson in the first round really damaged my team. I truly believe my team would of won if he didn't get injured. This time around I'm going to build a better team that will be a lock for more then 1 championship. Also, my team was in horrible shape cap wise. It would of been hard adding any solid role players to help us win.
Magic: In how many seasons do you see yourself as a championship contender once again?
Warriors: 3 seasons or less I should have a very solid team on the floor.
Magic: If there was one trade you could take back in your career in UOSL, what would it be and why?
Warriors: The Dawkins trade because I knew he would become a great player. I was in win now mode and I had to sacrifice him to get where I wanted to go.
Magic: Now and the next 5 years, who do you fear most in the Eastern Conference and Western Conference, and why?
Warriors: In the East I fear the Knicks the most they have a solid young team and should keep getting better. Out West I think the Jazz will become the best team in the league in a season or 2 and most of their guys are young and should improve. The Suns are my darkhorse once Andy gets going he should put an incredible team out to play.
Magic: Final question, if I told you to make a starting 5 of anyone in this league you want, who would it be? And who would be your go-to guy?
Warriors:
C John Crowder C 28 7'2'' 245 C+ B+ D+ A- A- C
PF Anthony Struthers PF 28 6'10'' 248 C+ C- D- A B D
SF Jordan Price SF 21 6'8'' 235 B+ B+ C A- C+ B
SG Dexter Strickland SF 31 6'3'' 197 C A C+ A+ C- C
PG John Wall PG 31 6'3'' 192 B- C A B+ C C
I love defense and all 5 of these are solid defenders...Price would be my go-to guy. He should be the best player in the league pretty soon.
