1. Allonzo Trier SG 6'4'' 205 19 B- B B- B- C- A (from New Orleans)
The Golden State Warriors struck luck in the draft by selecting the best prospect in this years draft. After trading away their Playoff team they once had, the Warriors are starting from scratch and what better way to do that by landing this pick here and build around a new franchise player for the future. Trier is probably the best prospect the league has ever seen entering the UOLS2 Draft. No doubt this kid will become an elite superstar in this league.
2. Diego Gerbaudo PG 6'6'' 210 20 B- B- C+ C+ C A (from Toronto)
After mistakenly trading away Jevon Thomas, the Spurs are back in the position to having a star Point Guard on their team again. At this pick, the Spurs select the best point guard and probably the second best player in this draft. Gerbaudo is known for his great play overseas and scouts say he is the best international player since Ricky Rubio. This kid is a great offensive player who can score anywhere on the court. He also has very few weaknesses and should become a special player in the league someday. Although the Spurs already have a young point guard in Dominic Artis, they cannot pass up a great young talent in Gerbaudo, especially when great Point Guards are rare to find.
3. Christian Standhardinger SF 20 6'9'' 223 C+ C+ C- B C+ A
After selecting Trier at number one, the Warriors find themselves still in the top 3 and select the best forward in this draft. Looking at their roster right now, the Warriors have a voided spot at small forward. So at this pick, the Warriors select the small forward of the future in Standhardinger. Like Gerbaudo, Standhardinger was one of the top prospects overseas. Scouts loved his all around play and believe he will become a star one day. He may be raw, but this kid oozes out potential who can become a great defender/rebounder and good offensive player in the future for Golden State.
4. Andrew Harrison PF 21 6-10 240lbs B- C C- B- C+ A
Dallas lacks guards on their team right now, but since the best two guards are off the board, the Mavs take a risk on Andrew Harrison who is probably a top 5 talent and possibly the best big man in this draft. Harrison had a great career in college and is a prototypical big for his size. Scouts were very impressed with his game. The Mavs get bigger at this pick as well.
5. Christopher Niemann C 20 6'11'' 315 B- D+ D+ B- B- A
This pick here is really a no brainer. The Celtics lack a center on their team so at this pick, they select the best center prospect in this draft. Niemann is another top prospect who played overseas for Germany. The league has not seen a great German star since Dirk Nowitzski and Niemann could be the next big thing coming out of Germany. Niemann is HUGE and is a very effected post player for his size. He is also a solid defender and rebounder. Although Niemann is very slow, the potential is there.
6. Shai Shai Matthews PG 5'11'' 185 19 C+ C+ B- C C- A
The Suns have talent everywhere on their team, from Center to Point Guard, and they continue to add young talent by selecting the second best Point Guard in this draft. Although not a need, Point Guards are rare to find and Matthews is a top 6 talent in this draft. Coming out of college, Matthews is a quick pass first point guard who can make his teammates better. The Suns could of gone with a different selection, but they believe Matthews is too hard to pass up, considering his position and age.
7. Dominik Spohr PG 20 6'3'' 185 C C A- C C- A
The Magic lacks a Point Guard right now so at this pick I see them selecting the third best point guard in this draft. Unlike the first two point guards selected, Spohr is probably the best ball handler in his class. Scouts loved him while he played for Germany and is a intriguing prospect. Spohr is a great pass first point guard and has the potential become one of the best passers in UOSL2 someday. The rest of his game is raw, but right now Orlando is getting a great distributor who can REALLY pass the rock and help his teammates.
8. Luc Louves SG 18 6'2'' 190lbs C+ A- C- C D+ A (from L.A. Lakers)
Milwaukee has a history of grabbing bigs/forwards but at this pick the Bucks will select a French star guard in Louves who is the youngest prospect in this draft. Although small for his position, Louves is a high risk high reward player based on his age, game, and potential. Louves may need to work on his ball handling if the Bucks wanted him to play some point. But right now, Milwaukee is getting a great outside shooter and a decent inside scorer.
9. Daniel Clark C 19 6'10'' 255 C D- D+ C+ B+ A (from Memphis)
The Warriors are once again on the clock and after selecting Trier and Standhardinger, they select the second best center in this draft. The Warriors could of went with a different selection, but I just do not see them passing up a big man like Clark. Right now, Clark is a great rebounder for his age but the upside is there for him to get better in other areas of his game. Clark could become a top rebounder in this league in the future.
10. Lewis Claybrin SF 20 6'7'' 210 B- C+ B- C C A
The Blazers are filled at every position but Small Forward. So based on need, the Blazers will select Lewis Claybrin who is the second best small forward in this draft and probably a top 5 talent. This pick here could turn out to become a steal for Portland. Right now, Claybrin should bring offense and ball handling. Although scouts have mix feelings about this kid and think he has poor work ethnic, there is no doubt Claybrin has all the potential to become a future star in this league and prove the doubters wrong.
11. Austin Colbert C 22 7'2'' 290 B D+ C- C B B
The Hawks can go anywhere at this pick but I see them selecting a Georgetown center in Colbert. Georgetown is also known to producing great centers. Colbert may be a safe pick here but he should fill a hole for the Hawks up front. Although not carrying a lot of upside, Colbert should become UOSL2 ready. The kid has great size should become a good offensive player although not a very good defender yet. But in the end, the Hawks get a potential 20/10 player at this pick.
12. Nathaniel Britt SG 21 6'5'' 210lbs B- B C- C+ C B
This pick here could become a steal for Philly. Right now Philly does not have a shooting guard on their team so at this pick they select the second best 2 guard in Nathaniel Britt. Right now Britt should bring immediate offense to Philly since he is just coming off a high scoring Junior year from college who also led the nation in points. Although Britt does not carry too much upside, he is only 21 and should become a solid shooting guard for Philly.
13. Dimitry McDuffie PF 19 6'9'' 230 B- C+ C- C+ C A
At this pick, I see the Pistons taking a chance on the young forward from Germany. This pick here is either steal or bust. The Pistons could use a Power Forward for the future so that is why they gamble on a prospect like McDuffle. Although he shows good athleticism, every other aspect of his game is raw but thankfully he shows great potential to become a star one day. Low risk, high reward pick here.
