1. Cameron Cornelius PF 6'10'' 235 21 C B C- B B- A
With the bad history of drafting wings in the top 5, the Nuggets go another direction and draft a top big prospect in Cornelius. Nuggets get a offensive/defensive stud who can shoot the ball from long range, block shots, and rebound. John Crowder part II? Cornelius could be scary.
2. Sindarius Thornwell SG 6'7'' 220 19 B+ C- C+ B- C+ A
Although Raptors are stacked at the wings, Thornwell is the obvious pick here since he is a top 2 prospect in the draft. By drafting Thornwell, the Raptors would shift him to small forward since his game lies more in the inside than outside. The rest of his game is also more of a small forward skill set when it comes to passing, defending, and rebounding. Bringing in him would create a nice exciting duo with Rashaan Hollman.
3. Wolfgang Novogratz SF 7'0'' 235 21 C+ A- C- C+ C+ A
The Hornets bring in a tall sharpshooting prospect in Novogratz who I believe is the third best prospect in this draft. He has a nice all around skill set for a wing especially at seven foot which is rare for a prospect his age.
4. Jerron Love PG 6'3'' 195 20 B- C C+ A- D+ A
With Utah in rebuilding mode, I see the Jazz taking the best point guard prospect in the draft. Utah is also looking to move aging star, Tavon Sledge, so this pick here is a wise move by selecting a younger point guard for the future.
5. Daquise Andrews SG 6'4'' 212 21 C+ B C+ B- C A
Looking at their roster, the Magic could use another shooting guard by drafting Andrews who is very talented with an all around game. Their current SG is off the books after this season so selecting Andrews should be a wise move. Hopefully he doesn't bust
6. Hassan Whiteside PF 6'8'' 230 19 C+ C- D+ A- B B
The Bulls select a defensive stud in Whiteside who should give the Bulls a defensive presence down low. Although not a need, Whiteside is just too good to pass up especially for a guy who led the NCAA in block shots. This pick here would also replace the defense that former Bull Jaylen McLeary once provided for them.
7. Greg McClinton SF 6'10'' 218 20 B C+ C C- B- A
After trading away all their wings, I see the Bucks selecting one for the future in McClinton who is a very unique player that can shoot anywhere on the court, especially inside. He's also 6'10 like Pierre Wright who was their last best wing player. McClinton should fill in that void.
8. Ethan Telfair PG 6'1'' 185 19 C+ C+ B C+ C- A (from Boston)
The Magic continue to look toward the future by selecting a young Point Guard in Telfair. Although a boom or bust pick, the Magic take a chance on him in hopes of landing a point guard for the future.
9. John Parham C 7'4'' 245 21 B- D C- C B+ A
It looks like the Spurs are on a rebuild mode as well so I think it's smart to select the top center in the draft in Parham. He is VERY big and should bring immediately help on the boards from day 1. He could become their future center if he pans out.
10. Morgan Jackson PG 5'9'' 175 22 C B B B- C- B
The Sixers already look like a competitive team in the East so they add on to their core by selecting the most UOSL2 ready player in the draft in Jackson. Their team needed a point guard BAD last year and that is why they just missed the Playoffs. Jackson is a smart and right pick for them.
11. Shelden Matalon SG 6'6'' 210 20 B C+ C- B+ C B
The Blazers lack a shooting guard right now so they solve that problem by drafting Matalon who is UOSL2 ready. Scouts believe he is very solid and could have a long career. He can definitely score and d up. Hopefully he can make that happen in Portland.
12. Braxton Ogbueze PF 7'1'' 272 20 C+ D D+ C+ B A
The Sonics are pretty much set at every position (assuming they resign Paolisso), but I see them taking a chance on a player like Ogbueze who is has a lot of upside and oozes potential according to scouts. He would provide PF depth for them off the bench.
13. Billy Ray Clark PG 6'0'' 200 21 C B- B B- D+ B
The Rockets lack a Point Guard (after trading Jevon Thomas) so I see them drafting one who is UOSL2 ready. His skill set is similar to Morgan Jackson and should produce from day 1, whether starting or playing off the bench.
