i used to love baseball. i dont really care about it anymore. bud selig is a moron and the lack of a salary cap or LEGIT profit sharing ruins it.
i would go to 25+ games a year no matter how good or bad the Reds are. now i go to maybe 5 games a year and even if the Reds are good this year that wont change.

I agree with this statement. Failure to provide a salary cap is the fault of Selig and the owners of the league. It isn't the yankees fault if they desire to spend more than the rest of the league.

hahaha. This proves my point even more. When the yankees, Red soxs, Mets are in the world series they had the highest ratings in WS ever. Especially in the 2000 Subway WS. You say the yankees are bad for baseball? The yankees are great for baseball. Everyone is tuning in to see them lose (they hate them) or win ( they love them). no and no. not at all. that is your own personal preference. The fact is, those three teams, especially the yankees have the most fans around the country/world than anyone.

Excuse me? Yankees have the most fans of any team in the world? WTF are you smoking? Seriously now Also, the Yankees are playing within the rules, and people have been dealing with that for a long time now. They deal with it by not watching or following baseball anymore.

Of any team in MLB the yankees are the most well known and fan favorite team all around. There are so many more yankee fans than any other team in baseball around the world, that is obvious.

Not everyone who plays in MLB can throw 95 mph or are even that good of hitters and I don't get what's so hard about hitting a ball. The all-time batting average for MLB is like .260. That of course, in terms of baseball is "pretty good" but that means I only need to really hit the ball 2 out of 10 times to be called "average." I think that's possible. Baseball isn't even a "team sport." In baseball all that matters is individual statistics, not team stats which makes that all the less appealing.

Not every player can hit a 95 mph fastball or throw one that does not mean they are not really good baseball players. They just have different strengths, some throw 100, some can throw 80 mph and get by, either way they are athletes because they have made it to the majors. It is not about the all time batting average, it is about hitting a baseball. Making contact in general is hard and hoping you get a hit is hard. Some people can not do this, some could never make it professionally that is why they are considered athletes. All the workouts they do, warm ups, preparation in the off season. A few fat pitchers and hitters give you something to "make fun" of baseball with, it is a wrong perception. These guys can still throw and hit, that is the point. That is why baseball is great. It is a team sport if you want to win a WS... What sport is not about individual statistics? Basketball, football, etc.. they are about team and individual stats, so your argument there does not make any sense.

Basketball, football, etc.. they are about team and individual stats, so your argument there does not make any sense. Than why did you point out about hitting a 95 mph fastball if even some "professional athletes” can’t do it? So just because someone makes it to the majors they are “athletes?” Wow, great argument there. Yes, hitting a baseball is hard. Just like hitting a golf ball x amount of yards in a straight line is tough to. I wouldn’t call them athletes though, I’ll call them “skilled-players.” Golf, baseball to me is a skill, it’s not “athletic” by any means. You don’t have to be the strongest, fastest player to play either of the two sports and be “successful.” What workouts do they do in baseball that could possibly compare to a football, basketball, soccer, etc off-season? There is NO comparison. Spring training is a joke. It’s a bunch of meaningless games where the majority of the time the “stars” play 1 or 2 innings. The only baseball players that I consider athletes are those players that play multi-sports i.e. Deion Sanders, Bo Jackson, etc. THOSE were athletes and there is a reason why they preferred football over baseball. Any game where it has more than one person on the field, is a “team sport” obviously, but that wasn’t my point. My point was that team stats mean nothing in baseball. Yes there are individual statistics in basetball and football, but team statistics are much more important. Since when in baseball do you hear analysts talk about “well the Yankees have held the last 3 opponents to 3 runs per game” exactly, it doesn’t happen. It’s always this player has this many HRs or this many strikeouts. Football and Basketball team statistics are much more important than individual statistics and that’s a fact.
